2018 Summer Small Boats Camp

REGISTRATION IS OPEN 

ELIGIBILITY   Rising 10th Grade through 12th Grade.  Rower must have completed at least one spring season with a high school rowing team.

OBJECTIVE  This camp will focus on rowing skills in sculling boats–quads, doubles, and singles–with the goal of development the rower’s technique in both sculling and sweep boats.  The coach to rower ratio will be no greater than one coach per 8 rowers.

REGISTRATION  Registration and payment for camps will be online through RONIN Racing.  Exception will be the swim test and VHSL physical form.

Swim Test:  All participants are required to have a swim test on file with their school rowing team.  There is no requirement for the rower or school to provide a copy of the swim test as long as the school rowing team has the swim certificate on file.  If a rower did not participate with a Prince William County high school rowing team, a swim test certificate is required.

Physical Examination Form: All participants are required to submit a completed VHSL Feb 2017 Physical Examination Form to be completed by qualified medical personnel.  The form must have a doctor’s signature dated 1 May 2018 or later.  Ensure all four pages are completed with required signatures.  Make a copy to bring to the first day of rowing camp; keep the original for your records.

A rower may sign up for both afternoon sessions, but not for a morning and afternoon session.

Times:          10:00 AM  to 12:00 PM

Fees:              $375

AFTERNOON SESSIONS:  (4-weeks) – Cap of 24 Rowers

Dates:           Session 1:  June 25 to July 20    Closes 24 Jun

Session 2:  July 23 to August 17   Closes 22 July

Times:          1:30 PM  to 3:30 PM

WATER BOTTLE  All participates will receive a reusable water bottle on the first day.  To help reduce the use of disposal water bottles and keep our boathouse clean, rowers are encouraged to bring water daily in their new reusable water bottle.
