FEES There is a one-time admin fee of $70. Each private lesson is $80 for one hour. A 5% discount will be applied if three or four lessons are purchased. A 10% discount will be applied for five or more lessons.
PRIVATE LESSON A personalized private lesson is a great way to develop your skill. Our certified rowing instructors will give you one-on-one lessons tailored to your individual goals and needs, whether you are a beginner or looking to refine your skill. Private instruction is for you if you are looking to:
- learn to row but cannot make a class or would rather have an individual setting,
- gain confidence in a single scull,
- receive individualized coaching,
- switch up your usual rowing routine,
- or improve your technique, fitness, and results.
Due to current COVID – 19 mandates, boats larger than singles are restricted to “same household.”
SEMI-PRIVATE LESSON Do you like the benefits of group rowing but want the individualized attention of private instruction? Semi-private and group lessons give you the best of both worlds. By rowing together in a double (semi-private) or a quad (group), you and your coach will be able to focus on the dynamics of your boat as you work to not only improve your own technique, but also combine as a team to create an effective, dynamic stroke and boat speed.
SCHEDULING Each lesson is scheduled at your convenience and based on availability of the coach and equipment on a not-to-interfere basis with calendar programming.
SWIM TEST All participants are required to have a swim test completed prior to the start of the session (no exceptions). The completed swim test certificate must be turned in on the first day of the session. Rowers will not be able to go on the water without one. The swim test certification requirements and form can be downloaded from the Prince Willian Crew (PWC) Forms page.
PHYSICAL EXAMINATION FORM All participants are required to submit a current (within the past 12 months) “Sports Physical”. If you or your child thinks they may participate in athletics in the school system, we suggest using the VHSL Feb 2017 Physical Examination form. The requirements and form can be downloaded from the PWC Forms page.
